To provide supervision and academic, functional, and/or behavioral support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day. Continued employment is contingent upon the individual needs of the assigned student(s). (2023-2024 School Year)
Works with assigned student(s) to reinforce the learning of material or skills initially taught by the teacher. Collects student academic, functional and/or behavioral data as needed. Helps assigned student(s) master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher. Assists with the supervision of assigned student(s) during emergency drills, assemblies, at recess, in the media center, class transitions, and on field trips. Checks notebooks and supervises testing and make-up work as assigned by the teacher. Assists with toileting, clothing, and washing as needed. Assists with lunch, snack and clean-up routines. Alerts the teacher to any problems or special information about assigned student(s). Supervises, observes and assists the assigned student(s) at all times. Participates in training activities as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum of 60 hours college credit or passing score on paraprofessional test; 2 year degree preferred. Must have ability to prioritize tasks and work independently; must be able to handle, in a calm, intelligent manner, any unexpected situation that may occur. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to work with minimum supervision.
Grade - C9 $12.40 - $19.79 per hour 7.5 hours per day 180 days per year
